Solution to: “Runtime Error: index:5781 is outside of collection bounds” in Liberty Basic Workshop

Screenshot (5)

For some beginner programmers who would like to jumpstart their programming skills by writing their first programs using their customized buttons (or bitmap files), they will find, in a most disappointing way, that bitmap files created with Adobe Photoshop will, most often than not, tend to fail to work in LB Workshop displaying the above error.
To solve this, you will need another bitmap editor program, like the free program Pixel

Former by Qualibyte. You can download the program here:

Solution:

* Usually, the bitmap file could be easily corrected by opening it using Windows Paint and saving it into the default bitmap format, however if this doesn’t work for you,

1. Open the file using Pixel Former by either a. right-clicking it and clicking “open with…” and opening it with Pixel Former or b. opening Pixel Former and dragging the bitmap file into it.

Note: You can also open buttons of different format like *.jpg, *.png, and etc.,
2. Export the file into any folder you create for bitmap buttons (or just any folder you’ll remember later) using the Windows Bitmap format. You will then be prompted to choose from the following format options, I prefer:
R5:G6:B5 (16bpp).

3. Hit save and try using it again in Liberty Basic Workshop.
This works for me. Hope this works for you, too. Cheers! =)
