Solution to: Sims3Launcher has stopped working (Windows 8)

Screenshot (3)

After a fresh install of Windows 8, The game The Sims 3 almost always fails to start. This is true to all windows operating system after a fresh install if the system has not installed DirectX yet. I myself have had much trouble figuring out what was wrong until I realized not installing DirectX.
Solution 1: To fix this problem, simply download, install and update your DirectX drivers. You can visit the page and download the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer here:

Solution 2: If, however the above instruction doesn’t work for you simply because the game was working and has just recently stopped working, and because you already have DirectX updated, you can try this:

1. Locate the missingdeps.idx by going to Documents\Electronic Arts\Sims 3\DC Cache
2. Delete Missingdeps.idx.
3. Voila. You’re good to go.

Hope this helps.
